FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Is QuotesMap an insurance company?

No. QuotesMap is not an insurance company, broker, or agent. We are a free comparison tool that connects Ontario drivers with licensed, RIBO-registered insurance brokers. We do not sell insurance policies or set rates.

Are the price ranges shown accurate?

The ranges shown are estimates only, based on general data for your postal code area. Your actual premium depends on your driving history, vehicle, age, and coverage level. Your chosen broker will provide your exact personalised quote.

Will I get spam calls or emails after using QuotesMap?

No. You only submit your contact details when you actively choose a specific broker and request a callback. Only that broker will contact you. We never share your information with multiple brokers simultaneously without your explicit consent.

How is QuotesMap free to use?

QuotesMap earns a referral fee from brokers when a user requests a callback. There is absolutely no cost to you — the service is completely free, with no obligation to purchase a policy.

What information do I need to provide?

To see estimated rates, you only need your postal code or city name. To request a broker callback, you provide your name, phone number, and postal code. Optional details like vehicle type and driving history help your broker prepare a more accurate quote.

Are all brokers on QuotesMap licensed?

Yes. Every broker on our platform is a licensed insurance broker operating in Ontario, registered with the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO). We verify each broker before listing them on the platform.

Why is car insurance so expensive in Brampton?

Brampton has some of the highest auto insurance rates in Ontario due to high population density, heavy traffic, a higher frequency of claims, and historically elevated fraud cases in the region. Comparing multiple brokers through QuotesMap is especially important in high-rate cities like Brampton.

Is my personal information protected?

Yes. QuotesMap complies fully with PIPEDA — Canada’s federal privacy law. Your information is only shared with the broker you select, and only for the purpose of providing you with an insurance quote. We take your privacy seriously.

Why do car insurance rates vary across Ontario?

Rates in Ontario vary based on your postal code, driving history, vehicle make and model, annual kilometres driven, and coverage level. Urban areas like Brampton and Scarborough typically see higher rates than cities like Ottawa or Burlington due to traffic density and claims history.

How quickly will a broker contact me after I request a callback?

Most brokers in our network aim to contact you within the same business day, based on your preferred callback time. You can specify morning, afternoon, or evening when submitting your request.
